For Immediate Release…
Sailboat Racing in the Digital Age: Telltale Offers Free Websites for Sailors -
New website platform provides free website creation and development for sailboat racing captains and their crews.
Washington, DC, Jan 10, 2008
After releasing the beta version of Telltale software to a limited number of sailors and boat enthusiasts, award winning web design and development firm, Blue Water Media, has opened the free website service to the general public. With direct feedback from captains and sailors who volunteered for beta testing, Telltale has been improved and refined with new features and a truly robust platform for creating a free website for sailboat racers. Features of the Telltale software include, but are not limited to:
- Interactive calendar and event scheduling
- One-Click email notifications for events and news
- User-friendly photo gallery for sharing and uploading pictures
- Central message board for the captain and crew
- Improved selection of free templates and stock photography
- Automated Local US Sailing sanctioned events scheduling
As an active member of the marine and boating industry for several years, Blue Water Media recognized a need for more effective online services that accommodate sailors’ needs. With the lack of available online technologies in much of the marine industry, Telltale was created to meet the need of captains and crews to better communicate online and manage their racing and scheduling demands. The Telltale website platform offers race boats (and cruisers) the ability to create robust complete websites for their boat programs and to keep their crew updated on events and happenings - at zero cost to them.
Creating a website with Telltale does not require any programming knowledge whatsoever. The website platform is designed for computer novices to create a complete website in about 15 minutes using the www.ttsail.com website. Updates to the content can be made easily with the intuitive admin area that works similarly to word processors like Microsoft Word. New captains who already own a domain can contact the Telltale support staff and have the site use an existing domain or users can search and register available domains for just $9.99 on the Telltale website.
Blue Water Media continually supports the Telltale software with constant upgrades and improvements. Future upgrades and enhancements will include: automated event reminder emails, mass email and newsletter communications, a full contact management system for managing communications, and improved events scheduling and management.
The service is available at no cost for boat owners. Telltale leverages sponsorship relationships in order to provide the service free of charge.
