Website Analytics Glossary

For clients that subscribe to our marketing services, we monitor their traffic data with Google Analytics. Google Analytics offers enterprise level analytics reporting that can record nearly any action that takes place on your website. With Google Analytics you will gain rich insights into your website traffic with Advanced Segmentation, Custom Reporting, Motion Charts, and more. Our 'Google Analytics Qualified' marketing staff will expertly install analytics to measure all your key performance indicators. Our marketing consultants will be available to help you interpret the data and find actionable trends that will improve the performance of your website.
Our marketing clients receive monthly Analytics reports to keep them informed on the website's performance. Since these reports have a few terms that aren't common language, we ultimately receive a few questions about the reports. The following video and glossary will explain some of the basic terms and teach how to interpret basic reports. If you have a question that is not covered here, please contact us directly by phone or email.

Effective websites generally have a bounce rate below 60%.
- New Visits – This is the percentage of your visitors that have not viewed your website in the past.
- Goals - A goal is a website page which a visitor reaches once they have completed a desired action such as make a purchase, complete a form or application, or download. Blue Water Media manually defines each goal for your website. If you require additional goals assigned, please contact us.
