With a PHD in the works I can see why my roommate made her Kindle purchase.
I cannot fathom the amount of money she would spend on shipping and library fines, not to mention the lack of portability when it comes to the numerous amounts of books it takes to research for a dissertation. People these days want to be able to move around and have access to many things. The convenience is definitely appealing, but i still want the proof of my accomplishment.

I see your point that technology is making a lot of things more accessible and manageable, but it detaches them from some of what we enjoy about them. Who makes that awkward call for a first date anymore instead of just texting? Who writes a letter to their parents from a summer away, instead of emailing them? Who actually OWNS a CD anymore instead of loading up their iTunes library (I miss the cover art)?

All these new technologies are great, but yes there is something I miss about the old way.

I understand that but where does it take us?
The universe is a figment of its own imagination. There's no future in time travel. :)
