BLUE WATER MEDIA HELPS PLANET BEACH TANNING PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO VICTIMS OF HURRICANE KATRINA

In the wake of the deadliest natural disaster since 1906, the Planet Beach Tanning headquarters in New Orleans, Louisiana was one of the many businesses hit by Hurricane Katrina. With thousands of employees and offices nationwide, the management wanted to create a Planet Beach message board to provide support for the families affected by this natural disaster. .

Blue Water Media www.bluewatermedia.com divided the site into two straightforward sections: “Can Provide” and “In Need of…” Employees had the capability to give to or receive from any Planet Beach employee in the country by simply posting the information online. Within hours there were hundreds of offers for free lodging, transportation, food and employment.
The message board was designed to be simple and user-friendly supplying people with quick answers to life threatening questions. The site provided the means of communication used to facilitate immediate action when time was of the essence.
