NGEN Case Study
Situation:
NGEN, based in Georgetown, Washington, DC, is a computer technology consulting firm specializing in office relocations, data system installation, and consulting. NGEN came to Blue Water Media for a complete redesign of their current site.
Objective:
Due to the technical nature of their business, NGEN required their current website be simplified. The goal: to clarify the company's objective and streamline the content into an easy-to-read online resource. As it was, the content was too verbose and technical to be clearly understood by the visitor. The information architecture was difficult to navigate and overwhelmed with superfluous information. The layout of the website was to be centered on their four dominant services: Relocation, Security, Networking, and Hosting and geographically targeted for Philadelphia, New York City and the DC Metro area. NGEN hoped to attract new business by combining a high quality presence and increased marketing efforts with clear language and navigation.
Solution:

Blue Water Media gave the website a colorful appearance and structured it around an easy-to-use interior menu based on the four core services. Content was rewritten for practical application clarified by the use of bullet points and layman terms. Blue Water Media incorporated NGEN's logo and color scheme into an original design and style tailored to the character of the company. The site was compressed from 40 pages to ten pages to ensure efficient navigation and a more personalized online appearance. These pages were placed into a Monthly Maintenance and Content Update contract where they would be continually revised to display the most current information and news concerning NGEN. Additional Paid Advertising campaigns were set in place to give NGEN a stronger media appearance and to drive new business to the site.
Impact Results:
The high quality redesign was a success. In the first few months, the number of people looking at the website increased consistently by the thousands. The Blue Water Media Pay-Per-Click campaign paved the way for quality business and decreased the price per click as more and more people saw the site. The images were attractive and welcomed interested viewers to explore the site.
