It’s no secret: smoking kills and quitting is really hard. That is why the American Lung Association selected Blue Water to design and develop QuitterInYou.org the seminal online support destination for quitting smoking.

Blue Water created the comprehensive ‘Quitter In You’ microsite with unique tools, tips, and support to help smokers kick-start the quitting process.

Tools include persuasive reasons to quit, inspirational user-generated success stories, a section called “City Pages” outlining local resources available to potential quitters, and even encouraging e-cards that family and friends can send to provide that extra motivation.

Creating career opportunities for military spouses
By 2012, the unemployment rate among military spouses had risen to 26%. Blue Water was selected to design and build a White House-mandated employment portal to better facilitate the recruitment of military spouses.

We created a ‘first-of-its-kind’ website designed to fit within the portable lives of military spouses. The site includes a résumé-builder and job-search utility. Users can also specify their job preferences, creating custom email alerts.

Partnerships to create military spouse careers were created with more than 230 industry leaders like 3M, American Red Cross, AT&T, Bank of America, Booz Allen Hamilton, IBM, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft and more.

The outcome:

A former Pentagon Senior Program Analyst said, “The White House had given us a goal of 50,000 military spouse hires by 2015, and I’m happy to say today that in 2014, we’re at more than 60,000.”

There are currently more than 515,000 active jobs, with more than 2.2 million careers published on the site since its initial launch.

Partnerships have increased 305% since 2012, plus registered spouses went from 6,650 in 2012 to 44,128 in 2014, a 564% increase.

How a portal became the door to simplicity.

Audi has always been at the edge of progressive innovation; creating numerous web-based IT and analytics applications geared towards business efficiency. But since these applications were built and managed by different vendors both internally and externally, they lacked the consistency and the functionality users needed.

Blue Water consolidated 16 applications into one analytics portal; successfully reducing the number of websites Audi uses, resulting in a single, smooth, fast, focused, user-centric experience for both dealers and corporate users.

The outcome:

The new portal has had a positive business impact on Audi, with improved ROI and easier-to-manage KPIs. By standardizing navigation, visual aesthetic, and support services for each application, the user-experience has been greatly enhanced.


Plus, with easier search capabilities, users are now able to spend less time looking for information and more time acting on it.
